When to choose brush and tree removal
This is the service for property where brush and small trees are tangled together and you want it all gone in one visit — an overgrown lot, a wooded strip going back to nature, a parcel you’re reclaiming for use. We clear the brush and the trees up to 6 inches together, so you don’t need a separate brush crew and tree crew for the small stuff.
Our scope is deliberately honest: we handle brush and trees up to 6 inches in diameter. For anything larger — mature shade trees, dead trees near structures, hazard trees — we refer to a local arborist or tree service. That’s not us passing the buck; mature tree takedowns require climbing, rigging, and specialized insurance that’s a genuinely different trade from brush and small-tree work. Knowing where our work ends protects your property and your wallet.
Here’s what that means for you:
- We can clear an overgrown lot of brush and saplings in one visit — no separate tree service needed
- We grind trees up to 6 inches into fine mulch on-site — no hauling
- For a mixed job (brush plus a few mature trees), we coordinate with a tree service: they take the big trees, we handle everything else
- For a job that’s mostly mature trees, bring in a tree service first, then us for the brush cleanup after
If your job is open field rather than woodland, brush hogging is faster and cheaper. If it’s a residential yard, see yard clearing. Not sure? Start at our brush clearing overview.
Our equipment for brush and tree removal
Our tracked forestry mulcher grinds standing brush and trees up to 6 inches directly into fine mulch in one pass — no separate cutting, no hauling, no burn piles. Our skid steer with attachments handles the heavier pulling and tighter spots. For larger trees in a mixed job, we use chainsaws and a hand crew to fell and limb, then mulch the brush and limb wood, leaving cleanup-ready logs for a tree-service partner or your contractor. It’s the same approach we bring to forestry mulching, scoped to where brush and trees meet.
Pricing for brush and tree removal in South Jersey
Pricing varies a lot with how dense the trees are and the size mix, but typical ranges run:
- Light brush and saplings only: $400 to $1,200 per acre
- Mixed brush and trees up to 6”: $800 to $2,500 per acre
- Dense woodland with a real tree component: $1,500 to $4,000 per acre
- Coordination with a tree service for larger trees: quoted separately
The spread is wide because a thin acre of saplings and a tangled acre of woodland are different jobs. We give a free quote after walking the property and explain exactly what’s driving it.

What we don’t do
Clear scope, honestly stated:
- We don’t remove trees larger than 6 inches in diameter — those go to a tree service we’ll help you find
- We don’t do climbing tree takedowns
- We don’t remove trees near structures, power lines, or in tight quarters — that’s arborist work
- We don’t grind stumps as a standalone service — a stump-grinder rental handles that
